Perrenix is an app for self-reflection and digital legacy. At your own pace, you answer questions about your life, your values, and your story — over 1,400 questions across eleven categories, in German and six other languages. Your answers stay private for as long as you use Perrenix. You can choose to make your life story accessible later to people in your circle of trust.

Yes, Perrenix is currently free – no ads, no selling of your data.

For anyone who wants to understand themselves better while also holding on to something lasting: people who journal or want to start reflecting on their lives; parents who want to leave their children more than documents; and families who want to preserve the life story of parents or grandparents while it's still possible.

A digital legacy at Perrenix means your own answers, thoughts, and memories — not your passwords or contracts. During your lifetime, you decide who may see them later: nobody, friends & family, or all Perrenix users. You set your health answers separately – if you wish, for your family only. Until a release, everything stays private.

You set up a circle of trust: people you add with their name and email address. Your legacy is released in one of two ways. After inactivity: if you don’t open the app for the period you chose (6 months, 1, 2 or 5 years), we first email you and send a reminder after 14 days; if you don’t respond within 30 days, it is released. Or after a request with your unlock code, for example via your printed legacy letter with QR code: if you don’t stop the request within your waiting period (7, 14 or 30 days, counted from when we notified you), it is released. You can stop a request via the link in the email or in the app. If a release happened by mistake while you’re still alive, you can take it back in the app.

Your data is transmitted encrypted and stored in the EU (Google Cloud, including the europe-west1 region in Belgium). During your lifetime, only you can see your health answers; they are never part of your persona and never sent to Google Gemini. Only if you explicitly choose this can your family read them after the release – and only your family. There are no ads and no selling of data. You can delete your account and your data yourself at any time – only contributions to a shared family tree remain for the other members.

Digital-estate services organize contracts, accounts, and documents — the paperwork. Perrenix preserves what no filing cabinet holds: your story, your values, your voice in your own words. The two complement each other; Perrenix does not replace estate planning or a will.

Classic memory-book services send questions for a year and print the answers into a book — usually as a gift, often only in English. Perrenix is an app for yourself, available in German and six other languages: you answer at your own pace without limit, watch your progress grow as a tree, and decide yourself who may see what later.

Under “Discover”, signed-in Perrenix users can search for personas and ask them questions. Your persona only appears there if you chose “Everyone” for your life story, two-factor authentication by SMS is active, you agreed to the AI features, and your legacy has been released. It answers only from your own answers – never from health answers. As long as you use Perrenix, your persona is not visible to anyone; the default setting is “Nobody”.

An export for all your content is in the works; until then, write to hello@perrenixapp.com and we will send you your data. You can already export your family tree as a GEDCOM file today. Should the service ever be discontinued, we will announce it with sufficient notice so that all users can save their content.

No. Most people use Perrenix for themselves first — as a guided reflection journal. The legacy features are optional and can be set up whenever it feels right. The legacy letter even allows for preparation without having to have that conversation beforehand.
