FAQ
Answers to the most important questions: cost, security, legacy unlocking, Persona Search, and differences from memory-book services.
Perrenix is an app for self-reflection and digital legacy. At your own pace, you answer questions about your life, your values, and your story — over 1,400 questions across eleven categories, in German and six other languages. Your answers stay private for as long as you live. You can choose to make selected answers accessible later to people in your circle of trust.
Yes. Perrenix is currently completely free — with no ads, no selling of your data, run independently. Should paid add-on features be introduced in the future, your existing content and core features will remain unaffected.
For anyone who wants to understand themselves better while also holding on to something lasting: people who journal or want to start reflecting on their lives; parents who want to leave their children more than documents; and families who want to preserve the life story of parents or grandparents while it's still possible.
A digital legacy at Perrenix means your own answers, thoughts, and memories — not your passwords or contracts. During your lifetime, you decide which content becomes visible to which people after your death: to everyone, your close circle, only family, or individual people. Until then, everything stays private.
You set up a circle of trust made up of people you invite by email. You can also print a physical legacy letter with a QR code and keep it, for example, with your important documents. In the event of your passing, family members can request access through it; access is granted in a controlled way via the unlock code you set up and the rules you defined — never automatically.
Your data is transmitted encrypted and stored in the EU (Frankfurt/Belgium region, Google Cloud infrastructure). Answers to health questions are always technically private and excluded from any sharing logic. There are no ads and no selling of data. You can delete your account and all your data yourself, completely, at any time.
Digital-estate services organize contracts, accounts, and documents — the paperwork. Perrenix preserves what no filing cabinet holds: your story, your values, your voice in your own words. The two complement each other; Perrenix does not replace estate planning or a will.
Classic memory-book services send questions for a year and print the answers into a book — usually as a gift, often only in English. Perrenix is an app for yourself, available in German and six other languages, with no annual subscription: you answer at your own pace without limit, watch your progress grow as a tree, and granularly control who can see what and when.
An optional feature for public profiles: other logged-in users can ask questions to an AI "persona" of you, based exclusively on answers you have chosen to share. Private and delayed-visibility content is never accessible to it. You can disable the feature at any time; your profile is private by default.
You can export and back up your answers locally at any time. Should the service ever be discontinued, this will be announced with sufficient notice so that all users can download their content.
Perrenix is available as an Android app on Google Play. Available in German, English, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese.
No. Most people use Perrenix for themselves first — as a guided reflection journal. The legacy features are optional and can be set up whenever it feels right. The legacy letter even allows for preparation without having to have that conversation beforehand.
